Winch Pull??
robbie:
What would you guys recpommend for the max winch pull that I might need for the Suzuki??
4000lb. 5000lb or 9000lb?? I might be able to get a 4000lb pull for around £120 but not sure if it will be enough :)
Any advice would be great
cheers

Hi Robbie
Even a 4000lb winch will pull you out of most situations, but it would struggle and when you really needed it it just wouldn't be man enough and if you want to be able to pull your mate's Landie out of a hole you'll have no chance.
A 6000lb-er would be pretty good (by spooky coincidence i may have a Warn 6000 for sale if my mate ever decides whether he wants it or not) I run an X9 and i have to say although it's not as well made as the Warn i've never ever got stuck or failed to rescue a stuck truck yet, and i've pulled out some pretty well buried one's i can tell you.
If you purely want it for self recovery the 60000 should be ample, but a 4000 would defimitely struggle.
hope this helps

I'd tend to agree, a 6000 lb is about the minimum you want. If you can get a 9000 for the right money, then it's worth it.
robbie:
Thanks Guys, the suzie has enough room under the bonnet for an extra battery too, which I do have in the shed :) so i do think a 9000 will be lsearched for. i am reluctant tho to get on off eBay in case it is faulty and needs as much spending on it as a new one :(

Robbie, there are a few companys around doing some good packages on winches. I bought a DV-9000 made by Come-Up, with bumper total bill was £695. I bought it from Curtis-Ball in Plymouth mail order.
