Series Diesel Heater....!
Miniman:
OK then lets have some Ideas about my heater in the landy. Series 3 diesel I know they are bad but is there any improvments that can be done. Sensible Ideas.
hobbit:
It depends on what you want to spend out.
There are good diesel powered heaters for trucks etc, that can be fitted, eberspacher is one make.
Have you gone through the obvious with the engine, stat etc.
An electric fan would help heat the engine up on a thermo switch,
Is the matrix ok on the heater, does it need flushing out, also has the control stuck shut, depending on the controls.
Miniman:
na dont want to spend silly money....It be worth more than the landy....
Just after Ideas but the electric fan is a good Idea..
hobbit:
Leccy fan with working stat, my 2 1/4 petrol during winter, hardly neet to switch the fan on, but does give me enough warmth, another thing is to fit a sheet behind the cab to cut off the tub section, what heat you have then will be kept in the cab area
jimthelandyman:
I saw in a Landrover owner mag that if you make your own little fan and attatch it into where the heater sucks air in from the side and there is a piece of threaded rod that you could attatch it to with a bolt, apparently it makes the heater suck much more air in as long as you make the fan suck rather than blow the air.
