TUFFTEE:
I can't figure out how to adjust steerng pump belt?
As the steering has got heavy with the battery light coming on?
                                                 Thanks!!

Sharpshooter:
I dont recall the 200Tdi belt sharing alternator and steering pump.

On my 200Tdi disco it is seperate. Strange that the Light should come on, and the steering get heavy. I would have a good poke about and see if the belts are still there, and the condition.

The alternator and Power steering are both adjustable. The alternator has a couple of bolts that will need slackening off, then using a lever bar, put slight force on it wawy (as in tightening the belt) and nip up the bolts. You should be able to twist the belt 90 degrees, and this is a good practice of adjustment for any belt.

The powersteering pump has a similar setup i believe. If you have any probs with anything, then your welcome to pop down to my place and i will be more than happy to help with your woes. I know its a bit of a journey, but you will kill lots of birds with one stone. Also if you have the bonnet, youll be down here anyway. :D

muddysteve:
on the 200 the alternator is driven from the pas pump. i'm having the same trouble at the moment. cold starts are putting to much drain on the battery and what with running all the electrics (fan, lights, heater, windscreen etc) it seems the pas belt just wont grip enough when you try and do any heavy steering aswell as that lot

Both belts are brand new before anyone asks

Steve

TUFFTEE:
Wayne! First i have to find out about that Bl**dy Injector Problem which only happend This Morning?
And find out if i will do any damage to the engine if i drive it?
As for the Steering Belt and Alternater Belts
The steering pump and water pump run of the main fanbelt?  the steering pump pulley Is a Double Pulley which in turn runs the Alternater!
And the problem i can't figure out is:
The steering adjster pulley has about 4 or 5 more bolts through it as well as the adjuster bolt? Have i got to undo All of them?

TUFFTEE:
Steve Mine Too! Had tufftee serviced back in July and had a new Cambelt Fitted as well as Steering pump belt and Alternater belt!
