ceramic car heater

denviks:
it does get warm but takes along time.it does seem to run very cool though. i have never seen the gauge above quater. and that is when towing our caravan up a steep hill.
runs very nicely. might be worth checking the thermostate do u think?

karloss:
I would say so mate. Mine is starting to blow warm(ish) air after the first five minutes. Takes ten minutes or so to get really hot. Both motors are the same. The disco also runs about half way on the gauge so I'm thinking yours is probably running a wee bit cool. Land rovers do tend to be a bit "over cooled" so a sticky thermostat will never let it get warmed properly, they do have to be capable of towing a trailer across the sahara after all, even if not everybody wants to do it!

In winter my lightweight 2 1/4 hardly need the electric fan on at all, no mechanical one fitted.

alaric:
Hi Den,

I've got one of the little 12v heaters, and to be honest it's just enough to stop the Penguins nicking your clothes - but no more.

I often have a luchtime nap in my car, and it's the difference between shivering too much to sleep, and being able to doze off.

I wouldn't say it warmed the car up much though!

Alaric.

H:
I had one of these in a previous car when my heater matrix blew.... ork ok ish nothing spetacular just dont make the mistake of putting it under the seat to blow air forwards like it did, the little heater melted its own casing.
