Start-up fuel settings

(1/2) > >>

Ollie:
I've been told that you can alter the fuel settings for the initial start-up phase of the 300TDi. I find that my Laila smokes unecessarly upon start-up. I expect a little smoke, but she's only done 70K and is in tip top condition. She doesn't smoke after start-up.
To add to this, I never need to wait until the glow plug light goes out, she fires first time, no matter the weather. So I suspect the there is probably too much diesel upon cranking.
Can I adjust this?

Cheers
Ollie.

Xtremeteam:
not that im aware off, mine smokes a bit but just ignore it now, nearly all 200's & 300's smoke on start up even from nearly new

Ahh, I see very clearly now- he is jealous cos you have a good engine and he may have a duffer!

This could be tricky to sort!
