woody:
i went to Holker Hall (Grange over Sands) last week and saw the replicas of the car and boat used in the film adout Campbells life.
a fantastic wall display charting his record breaking attempts
the lottery hands overe money for less worthy causes
they should allow the family to decide

suzota:
personally i think it should be fully restored to its former glory, but with a complete record of the restoration.
i can under stand the family wanting to remember it in its former glory, than a wreck showing how a great man died.

It's a pity you're so far away, as there's a pair of tributes to Donald Campbell, plus his grave in Coniston
'Easter 2005 In The Lake District. 2'

Mentioning restorations, the Lancaster at East Kirby is a marvellous memorial;
