Swing Away Wheel Carrier

(1/2) > >>

Mostie:
Anyone ever tried to build their own swing away wheel carrier? I'm thinking I might give it a crack when I get a chance as there doesnt seem to be all that much to them and to be perfectly honest I can justify sparing the time to play more than the money to buy one!!

Can anyone with one already fitted possibly take a couple of snaps for me, specifically of the mechanism by which it attaches to the door in order to swing out parallel with the door. I think I have my design and mechanism sorted, but it would be nice to see how my idea compares to the likes of a mantec etc.

Cheers guys,

Ross.

Ollie:

That's a Pivlock though and doesn't automatically move with the rear door.

Ollie:
If you can get a copy of Land Rover World March 2004, on page 138, there's a guide to installing a swing away with loads of pictures :D
