I want to fit a new head unit and speakers into my series 3

I currently have a sony tape player in my landy and some really small speakers which are really crap, i have looked at the wiring but it seems to be different to modern head unit set ups, i have seen a wiring conversion kit in halfords does anyone know what i shoild do about putting a new head unit and speakers in or does anyone have any pics of their wiring? I am a student so my music matters lol.

i fitted a MD headunit & multi changer into my 90,needs a power supply,an earth & the speaker wires,this should make it work enough to listen to it

now a good sound system is an essential,

as for wiring, they pretty bog standard, most head units have the  wires labeled, all you need is a permemnent positive so you can keep all your your remembered channels, and ordinary positive lead, a earth, and then its basically the speaker wires.

Then if you really want to be good, like me, you can plug some phono leads into the back of your head unit, out into the bonet, under the transmission tunnel andback into the cab area and into the 12" sub that you have between the thw seats!!! with 800 wat jenson amp. then you have a sound system, and my means is it good, my mates always here me coming now at the pub!! it has to be done and i have 2 x9"'s at the front and also 2 5" speakers in the front dash and also about to fit 2 10cm tweeters in the top corners of the cab,

it is easy to wire up a radio, just go for it, it makes life worth  lifing in a series, stopes that engine roar that you get other wise!!!

Cheers guys looks like i will be asking for a head unit for christmas and i will hook up some speakers and maybe a sub, hope it won't make my landy rattle too much lol!!!
