If you drive with some common sense, and use the lockers when needed, you are really taking strain off the 1/2 shafts(OK , unless you are gettin really extreme with wheels waving in the air)
The thing which busts diffs and shafts is wheelspin thru the diff, then sudden grip. With a locker(or two) and a sensible foot on the skinny pedal, you are gently supplying your torque evenly to all 4 wheels, they all get an even share, and nothing gets drastically shock loaded.
They also make the coolest CHUFF noise when you switch 'em in and out!!
Fit lockers, attack in low gear low speed, embarrass all the max revs and wheelspin drivers. :D
