Cleared away more mud and muck from the top of the sender and
noticed a small wet area on the metal return pipe, I tried to clean it
up to see were it was coming from and the pipe snaped off. :evil:

The metal pipes have rusted badly are are paper thin. :shock:

I need a new sender unit quickly. :cry:

I know that senario very well from my citroen hydraulics :( got to a stage where every pipe I looked at sprung a leak and thats a very high pressure system :(

Just thought I would share that ;) Good luck with a sender unit hunt.

You could try Derbyshire Land Rover Spares (DLS), I've found them to be very good in the past, there website is here.

Trouble with buying one from the scrap yard is that it will more than likely be in the same poor condition.

I've tried DLS and a few others, I can get one for under £100 now but I'm still looking.
