Source of water leaks

(1/1)

davidlandy:
I have found and hope, just fixed a source of water leaks into the footwells of my 90.

The seals around the air vent flaps on the front had come adrift on the tops allowing water past and running down the inside of the bulkead onto the floor via my feet!

took the flaps off yesterday and along with a precise measure (dollop) of superglue reinstated the seals.  those little 8mm bolts are bloody fiddly aint they?

fingers crossed now and waiting for the rain.

then I can see where the rest is coming from!

Sharpshooter:
try just pouring some water over with a watering can, this way its controlled. If it rains, you have no way of stopping the leak. Water leek detecting is always best done, under controlled methods. :D

Bush Tucker Man:
My 110 leaked (no surprise there)
In my circumstance the main dealer changed the door-seals 3times under warranty - no no avail.

In my own investigation I found that the sealant in the guttering had cracked.
After a scraping out, cleaning with petrol and then resealed it all.

Result; No more leaks!

My surmisation was that the water was entering the cracks & then running around the internal folds/guttering.
Once it reached the front doors, the folds sloped down, or were blocked & the water took the easy exit - all over my legs.
