Discovery Back from Bodyshop.

(1/4) > >>

Colin 009:
Had my Discovery returned to me this morning after the bodyshop had it for 3 weeks.

It was returned not on the back of a lorry but driven.(had them take it away on recovery truck as its not running right.)

As I understand it the car should be returned cleaned inside and out, this was not done, there was what looked like filler power all over the offside dickie seat and allso on the rear bench seat.
I told the driver to take it back to the bodyshop, I then spoke to a manager at the bodyshop who said, "I should take it to my local car wash and get it done myself and he would send me the £20 it would cost.
I politly told him no It was his job to get it cleaned and I was sending the car back.
It was then that I noticed something else not quite right, on the rear door offside bottom corner where there was the usual bubbling under the paint work the paint was missing from the corner where, when it was taken away this had been intact. He had the cheek to sugesst that because I used my Discovery off road that I should not worry about the fact that the car was not clean and the paint wasn't prefect.

The delivery driver was sent away and later returned after he had got some blue touch up paint (not the same colour but close) and covered the corner of the door and then he'd cleaned the corner od the discovery and the inside bits that I'd pointed out to him.

This is not the  end of the story as i WILL NOW BE GETTING TRADING STANARDS INVOLED.

The moral of this story so far is  dont use an insurance aproved bodyshop find your own, who can match your standards.

Reaper:
Sorry to hear about all your grief Colin, I hope you get it all sorted. I bet you feel like this  :(bigangry):

turtle:
I know what your going through Colin, when I had my Discovery re-ended a few years back it went back and forth to the LR guys, was never right that was one of the reasons I sold it and vowed never to let a LR Garage touch my landie every again.

Good Luck hope you get it sorted soon.

P.S Did you get my PM?

TUFFTEE:
Sorry to hear all that! I really hope all ends well?

Wanderer:
Get on to the insurance company Colin.
If they are doing that sort of thing a lot then I wouldn't think they'll stay insurance approved for too long.
