Air Filter or Snorkel?

Here im looking for some sound, and of course effiency. I will be doing say 50% road 50% offroad, so what would be best?

I had the same thought, im makin myself a snorkel out of some things i found in the garage. Got some stainless tube, 2 90degree bends, flexi tube, an a k&n off a smart. we'll see if it works! :?
