i did the same except with es1000, now wish i had gone for the es9000 as they are slightly longer i believe and it is the shocks that limit by axle articulation now.

The result is unbelevable,

What you shall notice is that the driverside shat sit abit lowever now probley but don't worry about it, they just always seem to do it for some reason, As long as u remember to park the correct way on the slope, you shal never notice it!!!

Does it really make that much difference?, I am currently running CP 2 leaf springs with es1000s, but i feel they are too soft, that when i get any weight in the back it sits down. Would change from 1000s to 3000s make it more 'weight resistant so to speak?' The front it beautiful but the back is low.

il have to agree with you on that.

They are two soft,

when i brought mine from chris perfect he said if you do alot of off-roading they are the best however, i think, for what most people do, the 3000 are far better, a mate has just put them on his and they are far better!!

however, if mine is leaning one way or the other, with the 1000, at least you can just pick up the body and watch it extend out again!! hehe

Would it be worth leaving the 1000s on the front and putting 3000s on the rear? would it alter the handling dramatically? would you notice the difference in offroading using the 3000s instead of the 1000s?

the dampers wont affect the ride height of the vehicle, only its resistance to bouncing. if you put something heavy in the back, it is going to sit lower.

sounds a good idea!!

however after just parting with over half K on the whole set up i think the next suspension would be the fon2far one. However as building a coiler hybrid i think il just leave mine as they are now.

However, just out of courisoity, have you knoticed that your front shocks have been dented by the axle to hub casing, as mine hav and can't think why, only put it down to the extended shackels and full articulation it has.

Trouble is you need the ES9000s for the Gon2far setup.  Had a close look at Dekes setup at the last P'boro show - the articulation is unbelievableTheir shock mount rlocation kits and revolvers are at the topof my wish list!!

The only cure for this would be to change the rears to the 3-leaf version

Depends whether you run loaded or empty most of the time

Most of the time it is unloaded, however it is when loaded i get the problems, sits down to much with 750s on starting to get a rub on the wheel arch.

Also the front spring has a dent in the clip that holds the leafs together, and my rear spring has been slightly dented too, the gap between the leaves is narrower on one than the other.

I am able to upgrade to ES3000s and a polybush kit for the new shocks so looking forward to that. Which will firm up the ride and stop the wollowing!  :)

I finished putting my rock mountian paras on yesterday with ES3000 shocks i coundnt believe how high it ended up being, but part of it is coz its got extended shackles and all whats left on the things to do list is to cut out the rear boxs to get more articulation out of the back axle.

Yes

A parabolic is a quite different arc, it's a parabolic arc, normal leafs aren't

Oh, and they usually have less leafs

Paras only have 2 or 3 leaves that go from front to rear, std have a stack in the middle of around 7 - 8.

Thats why your articulation is disappointing - the shocks are now the limiting factor - the Procomps are longer, allowing more travel
