Kenny:
Strange one this, battery fully charged, dash lights come on but try to start and get a click and nothing. This is the same sort of sympton as when the car is not in Park when starting.

Been playing up not wanting to start this morning, then got home charge the battery (fully charged) and now nothing at all.

Any thoughts ? Immobilizer ?

Sounds like the started motor?

Paul

Kenny:
Paul,

I thought it may be that, but would'nt I hear it trying to start. The current motor is only 5 years old.

check all your connections to the battery + and - leads also check the wire connections to the starter motor, if they are dirty or corroded you could have a bad connection and not make a circuit.
A quick check if your confident is to live up the solenoid connection with a seperate wire to see if it turns over*making sure its out of gear etc and not to be recommended if your not sure where to touch the wire*

other things may be a wire off the start switch , a bad connection at one of the bulk head connectors or just the starter has had it

I've had this a couple of times - both times it's been due to the earth strap from the engine on the passenger side. It's difficult to get to, but both times a good wiggle of the earth lead has solved it - fires up straight away

No tightening of the bolts - don't ask me how/why - it just worked
