P38 4.6 into 1990 Discovery
Skippy:
I spoke to Ian at RPI who supplied me my tornado chip for my 3.9, but he seemed dead against me using the GEMS system at all
He recons that i should use my existing Hotwire system with a 4.6 upgrade chip, but as you said it would nice to use the GEMS as it is more water resitant and isn't 13 years old.
The other problem with the hotwire is that i would need to install my original distributor which would also mean replacing the cam and various other parts which will probably cost as much as the chip upgrade.
My question is, how did your mate get his to run in the 90? Any contacts would be appreciated
Thanks
Chris

I'm a bit swamped at the moment, but when I said I "knew someone", I actually meant that it was me ;-)

I spoke to Mark Adams this morning, i have never found anybody to be so helpfull and informative :D .
He says that there will be no problems in getting the engine to work complete with the GEMS ecu but without the BECM.
Thanks for your help i will keep you informed!
