Inside Out - Bad Press

(1/1)

Moose:
Anyone see the Inside Out programme tonight.

I feel we are all getting bad press again . It would be interesting to know on which side of the fence the programme producer sits.

Colin 009:
Missed it :x  What was it all about :?:

offroading.net:
What a load of 80ll0ck5 that was :x
Good start as the reporter called 4x4's noisy, bull-barred, big tyred vehicles.

not many anti 4x4 people have left a comment! In fact a local to the dales welcomes 4x4's and has only ever had problems with "ramblers" wearing RA t-shirts

ho hum

On a better note my local MP is againts the law changes and had a letter off him this morning and the closing line was "Please be assured of my continued support"  :)  (Stephen O'Brien MP)

DiscoveRay:
Didn't think the programme was too bad considering it was the BBC who are generally incapable of reporting anything accurately or without extreme bias

The 'Rambler rep' got a lot more coverage, but he was concerned mainly with National Parks. The '4 x 4 man' made the point that vehicles have access to only 5% of lanes, Ramblers have 100% access.

What narked me was the farmer who kept blaming Land Rovers (sic) although the only Land Rovers shown were a classic Rangie (with tailgate flapping in the wind :!: ) and a Defender  being driven responsibly on an off-road course  Lots of motorbikes shown though.

As someone who does a lot of walking in the countryside around East Northants, most of the unsurfaced tracks around here are cut up by horses, mountain bikers and especially farmers, but I take the attitude that they have as much right to use the countyside as I do.

Andy.:
Was'nt going to post on this subject as we seem to be forever going round in circles

We'll never convince Ramblers to change there view, and yes they can ramble where ever they like and they do regardless of whether they are allowed to or not

It's always the same 4x4's doing the damage, not horses, bikes, people and farmers is it
