Are these too big?

Are 265/75/16 tyres to big for a standerd Disco? Its on 235x70x16 now, but its a 2.0MPI, will it alter the gearing to much?

Paul

Jim-Willy:
That is a big tyre, around 31" tall, that won't fit a standard disco, it is very wide and tall, a lot of 90's run with them.  I would doubt whether it will go on but even if it does it'll rub on everything once you get offroad.

Dr Neil:
i think you'll find they will catch on the wheel arches if the disco isn't lifted, and it will alter the gearing leading to it being slower when pulling away from standstill, sorry

regards Neil.....

Tony W:
i went 225/75 16 and have no probs get bit extra height but are slim been ok so far mud sand roads

beast5680:
I have 265/75x16,s on mine but its lifted by 1" on spacers and they are on standard disco steels, they dont foul much of the body work only just on the rar arches and then only just, but a larger offset on the wheels would make it a lot worse.
The fronts tuck up into the arch off road but they will foul the suspension turrets if you dont put extended bump stops on and the rears will foul the mudguard brackets for the same reason
