My money goes on 15"

Tyres are cheaper
You can get more rubber down when you air down due to the taller sidewalls

Downside, they tend to 'roll off' a bit more on corners for the same reasons.

I know what u mean strange how tyres would be cheaper when there is more rubber used to make a tyre with the same outside diameter??

would that inch make a difference on air down?

understand how they could be more boaty on corners

15" is cheaper because they make more of them... economies of scale and all that.

You'll be surprised what difference an extra inch can make :-)

It's true .... 235/85/16 MT/R ... £95 a corner (or less)
255/55/19 MT/R ... £200 a corner (or more!)

Bah! I wish I could 15" or 16" on Owl :(

19" is the smallest (safely) for the V8 .... the brake discs are huge!

Dave,

I think they get more expensive the lower the profile of the sidewall due to the expense of the re-enforcement etc?

shame that you can just mount the tyres onto the discs!  they are probably wide enough as well!

spose it is about the production volumes driving the pricing.

When I was looking for 15's a few weeks ago the only ones that seem to be available (Land Rover stud pattern) were white 8 spokes, so if you want anything other than these you may have a problem. A lot of the big companys have others in their adverts, but when you ring only white 8's available. (I got some and painted them black) :D  :D

Maybe it's just me, but there's a brace of Discoverys near my parents both on 15"s.

Somehow, they just don't look right
