Thanks again, it still worries me a bit that I'm contemplating claiming.

We had a friend here this morning, who's a Sister on one of the surgical wards.
She'd heard about my incident, due to the 'jungle telegraph' at work.
It's her view that I claim as well from;
1. Criminal Injuries Compensation Board
2. The Trust (via the union) as they failed to maintain a 'safe environment', I reckon that's rubbish, we can't control every person who comes in the door :roll:  :x
3. The scrote ? :?, He'll have nothing & will have to pay it at a £1.00 a week

Might have some talking to do tomorrow though :roll:  :roll:  :wink: .
After dropping 'Small-Child' at school, I'll nip over & see some people in the unit.
When it happened, Alison (Consultant) told me she'd called Mike (the Director Of A&E Services)
So, he'll want to see me at a guess?
He'll have to tell(?) the Board of Directors & hence the Chief Executive, so he'll possibly want to see me (as it'll have leaked to the local press)

Occupational health will want me, to 'see if I'm okay & not psychologically scarred' :roll:  :roll:  :roll:

ENT Out-patients on Wednesday, when they tell me they want to rebreak it :lol:

What a fun week it'll be :wink:

I agree you should pursue something.

I think points 1 and 3. I agree, you cant control who comes in the door!  If they did that you would not be able to see any patients!!

We are getting sued at work.  I work in dentistry at a referal practise (general dentists refer their worse cases (and patients... :x )  to us.

One patient was particularly crazy, had major issues etc.  What she wanted we could not do, nor would she pay for the basic treatment we offered.  Very wealthy lady, has a driver, butler made etc. She went to another Harley st "specialist" that charmed her, was a lot cheaper, took her money and messed her up even more.  She is now sueing him for the bad work (fair point) AND US!!!  For not warning her of cowboy dentsists and if we dont treat her for free, she'll sue us.  Its now going to mediation  :roll:  :roll:  :roll:  :roll:  :roll:
We'll win but lots of stress and it costs us  :x  :x  :x  :x  :x  :x  :x

You deserve something, she does not  :wink:

Bringing 'The Saga Of The Nose' up to date (see page 2; Oct 8th)

I went to see our Security Manager the other day.
I know Dave, as his wife was one of our Nurses, he tell me 'scrote' has been given 80hours Community Service

I've had the law firm designated by UNISON in touch, after I filled in the 'Criminal Injuries Compensation Board' forms in.
The lady who wrote states I might not hear anything for perhaps a year, before a decision is made by the Board  :shock:

On a similar vein, there was a story in one of the papers at the weekend concerning a Nurse (in Birmingham) who'd been assaulted by a patient (along with a security guard who went to her aid)

The Police (or more likely, the CPS :evil: ) declined to press charges, as it was;
'Not Deemed To Be In The Public Interest  :shock:  :shock:

As it was the NHS Trust in question (quite rightly) decided to persue a private prosecution & he received 8months (if I remember correctly)

This is another case, but same result for the Nurse
BBC Birmingham

And if it had been a Police Woman who had been assaulted? I know, that's a delicate subject right now.
The assailant would have been sent down for at least a year.

We keep getting told that it's 'Get Tough' on thugs who attack NHS staff, but when the CPS say 'Not In Public Interest'..................

I was 'lucky', mine was in front of 5 witnesses (including one patient) & CCTV, so no arguements.

Stormin:
80 hours community service :evil:  It makes me sick.  What planet are magistrates on. :?   I'll bet he does very little if any.  I wonder what the cost is.  Your time off and time spent by others. Police, your managment etc, etc.  Hope you patch up ok and recieve some compensation.  People like yourself deserve it.  Unlike some I could mention.
