Saw a 'T' registered 50th Annniversary this morning in Rothwell (small town between Wakefield & Leeds) om my way to the Vets.
Then another on the M62 heading west between jct's 30 & 31. I wonder if it was the same one, or one I already know?

Sad, but I think I've got one somewhere. Or is it the badge??

I know I've got one of the '50th' boyracer hats (sorry Baseball Caps) I wore it almost constantly for 2 weeks in America & Canada.
Well, when in Rome....... (or Toronto, Quebec,  New York, Washington - you get the picture :D )

Spotted another one yesterday;
It was in a driveway in Castleton (North Yorkshire Moors) registration; S202 VAT.
It was being kept company by a twin-axle horsebox, the only glaringly obvious mistake was that the woodwork of the 'box was bright blue  - the same colour as the large direction signs erected by the Highways Agency that tell us where to go.
Sorry, no photo, camera wasn't to hand

You've more chance of parking next to a 50th FreeLander than a Discovery, as LR built 3,000 of them (1,000 Discoverys)
They were also available in Silver (as the 3-door) & White Gold (as the 5-door)

Mindst you, I've only seen one 50th Range Rover since they were in the showrooms (100 produced)

Defender 90-50, in case anyones wondering, only 350 official vehicles of the V8 auto were built

History lesson over :D  :D

Went through the next village to where we used to live this morning & saw one that I thought had been sold as it had been advertised in the local 'Auto-Trader' a while ago

And NO!, Andy it wasn't the one I washed the other week

Mmm, it's very original as it's stil got the GT4 tyres on & the indicator-less body clusters.

Adding body tail & indicators was the first modication I did to mine, I ordered the clusters before I'd even picked it up

These clusters come with tail & indicator lens in place, along with bulb holders & the white 'PCB'.
It's just a case of swapping them over

BUT;
You ideally need to remove the 6th & 7th seats to give you more space (Torx 30 or 35)

Sods Law has previously decreed (for other people, mine was okay) that the loom at the rear clusters does not incorporate the relevant power feeds - check with a multi-meter before purchase or some jump-leads from the bumper clusters are required.
I'll guess that yours will have the correct multi-plug for this (6pin?) & have the live supplies

For towing (12N electrics) you need relay AMR 4873 priced at about £25.00. This operates correctly with 3x21watt & a 5watt side-repeater & will also run the 2x21watt indicators per side on my trailer.

I think (off-hand) that the cluster part numbers are AMR 5150 & AMR 5151

Don't forget the body gaskets on re-assembly

Hope this helps.

Saw one yesterday afternoon just out on the main road at the end of the Lane.
We stopped alongside each other at the traffic lights where the road splits, he did a double-take at the colour.
Lights changed I went down to the Market Place & he went towards the M62

(there's a 50th Disco somewhere around here as I see it occasionally in the town where we now live)

Saw another one today whilst on the way home from looking at a 'Winter Project' for father-in-law & myself.
We were heading back towards Wakefield down the A642 between Wakefield & Huddersfield quite close to the National Mining Museum.

It was registered as 'S993 DWB', if the number I wrote down was correct.

Also; I'm going to try & do a 50th Anniversary page on my 'WebShots'. With that in mind, if you've contributed on here to this thread (eg; 'Sogster')  Can you please let me have your permission (or not) to use your photos.

Photo'd another Discovery this morning.
It's one I've known of since before I bought mine, I'd spoken to the guy in early 2003 & found out he bought his new.
It's quite close to where we used to live, as is 'VDO 17' on the same web-page.

At the time I told him that it was on the wrong wheels. It turned out that he swapped the original alloys for a set of 'FreeStyles' in the sparkle finish. He preferred them to the slightly duller 5oth standards.
But on getting them fitted regretted it immediately.
50th AnniversaryWeb-Page

I also saw another 50th FreeLander yesterday on a local estate built on the old golf-course. I don't recognise it as one I've seen before

Yes, with the twin rear tail lights (& indicators) this is the relay that should operate everything at the correct flash rate & the 'trailer tell-tale' when one is connected.
I had 3 relays, only the last one was working correctly
