Once Again. A Suspension Question

(1/2) > >>

Bush Tucker Man:
My 50th will soon be in need of new springs & shocks (& probably bushes), as the replacement Defender CSW is currently on hold

Now, I don't want to lift it, just normal ride height.

However, I will be towing trailers & caravans with it.
(trailers from 750kg to perhaps 3000kg & a 1600kg BWSOW)

I seem to remember reading somewhere (be it here, or in one of the magazines) that Range Rover heavy-duty (labelled as Police spec) are the best bet?
The same source stated that H/D Discovery springs are too stiff for unladen day-to-day use, if unladen.

So, I'm asking whcih would be my best choice?
(also I've been told (ordered? ) the cheapest supplier possible)

Xtremeteam:
disco white/white springs are the landy desegnated towing springs for a disco

Bulli:
You can have them custom made in sheffield for 40 quid each(cash) The guy makes scorpions/ If you take one in for him to measure and tell him what you want he does the rest. Made a full set for my mates g wagon 3 inch lift and 25% stiffer took about 3 weeks

Range Rover Blues:
I ordered the police spec ones and I thought they were meant to be progressive but the ones that came aren't.

Don't forget however that a RR has a self-leveler so the springs are softer.  If you want to keep the soft ride unless you re towing then fitting one might be an option.

I know, I thought that they might be substantially stiffer, but I'll probably (at least) contact MM 4x4 as they're offering (online)

NRC 2119 (H/D front) @ £9.09
ANR 4491 ('Uprated' rear) @ £15.38
Armstrong Shocks  (F & R) @£8.44

Got to cross-check the fitments, but they can't be so much differance, even if they're actually 200series items.
Can there?

But.... I suppose my first 'port of call' ought to be the local independant, as he's only a mile or so away
