200 TDI problems
Xtremeteam:
as some of you will know i have fitted a disco 200 tdi into my 90,at the mo with 205's fitted it struggles to top 70 & is reving to its limits at that, with 750's fitted it does just over 65 at a lower rev range but woint go any faster,
on start up it has a sharp diesel "crack" like a ford tranny DI engine & tonight i striped the front of the engine to check the timing & everything is bang on the mark, also changed the fuel intake banjo bolt for 1 with a slightly bigger internal size which made nearly no differance & also fitted a new lift pump, checked the boost & its doin 7 psi & havnt tampered with the fuel injection pump yet,
any suggestions before i remove the injection pump to get it seen over by a specialist
Darren:
If it's revving to its' limits then it sounds like a gearing problem rather than anything wrong with the engine :?
What transfer box do you have fitted?
fesuvious:
thats what i thought too .....
hobbit:
defender transfer boxes are slightly lower gearing than discos, Wanderer can tell you more on that one
