As a Coastguard you get invited to take part is some interesting events from time to time. Tuesday evening was the annual joint emergency services exercise at Stornoway Airport (yes we have an airport!  :wink: ).

I was the observer for the Coastguard at the exercise which allowed me to take few photos of the airport fire tenders and I though you lot may like to take a look.  :D

With a long wheelbase they are likely to get stuck on the tops off hills if taken off road....


.... Unless that is what the water cannon is for (flattening hills before it gets to them)

These are the SWB ones, central steering position and nice for flat airfields!!  :D

We've got a few of these on the airfield here including the bigger ones and what amazes me is their acceleration from standstill!

I guess it helps when you don't have to pay for the fuel  :lol:
