Range Rover Blues:
Breather plugs only want to be fitted when you are wading, otherwise they shold be left out.  If you don't want them to seize than I'd suggest PTFE tape rather than copper slip as it doesn't wash away and will help the plug seal without applying masses of ft-lbs.

Point taken RRB! however i can be rather forgetfull at times! :D

Me too.  TBH I've never fitted mine :shock:

Both of mine are brass, one seized used the old wd40...no prob,
