ProjectBlue:
Mary, you might want to check ebay. They have used phones for sale there and could pick one up cheap?

--- Quote from: "Bush Tucker Man" ---SWMBO had a NEC e616, it was bl**dy awful.
Back for repair 3 times in a year, replaced once.
Abysmal battery life, as it has somany functions to keep alive (even if not used)
Apalling network coverage ('3')

I've never used it much meself, but first person to chuck me £45 for it can have it.

It's a Nokia 8210

My wife had one of those (only just given it away - typical!), and it had an odd set of 'ports' on the bottom (i.e. the connectors to fit the car kit) probably something to do with it having a radio built in, off hand I can't think of anything newer that is the same.
I would suggest as ProjectBlue suggested that you try eblag for another 8210.
Or if you look in the yellow pages and find a carphone warehouse fitting place (not a very good description but hopefully you can see what I mean) they should be able to mate up there range of phones to your current kit - use a fitting centre rather than a shop as you can drive your car right in.
Tim.
MuddyMary:
THanks for that. While is still working will just leave it but will def visit a fitter thing when I can to see what they can do :D ALso keep eyes on Eblag just in case
The Fat Controller:
--- Quote from: "MuddyMary" ---I have had my mobile for so long that they don't make them anymore and I can't get parts for it. :x
I have a contract with Orange who told me that I could upgrade to a new phone for free but they could not replace or fix my current phone.
I have a car kit fitted in the Freelander which put me back over £300 3 years ago so am not going to change phone when it will not be compatible with kit.
However, one day whe it really dies I suppose I will have to upgrade

it depends on the type of fitment for you phone the kit has,the older nokia phones had two pins the later ones have a 13 bar fixing,if you upgade and your phone has the newer fittings you can change the mounting in the car without replacing the whole kit
