I understand this is if the oil is new, for 'old' or second user oil (from perhaps a chip shop for example) the extra duty is about 8p.
I also am led to believe that you only need to pay the duty if you intend using the vehicle on the road, if you use it off road, then you have no need to pay.
Dont know how correct my information is, and I would advise you to check with someone more knowledgeable on the topic of duty than me :)

From what I could make out on the customs and Excise website, is that all vehicles may use fuel that has all the duty paid on it.
I agree that the original poster must seek accurate information from the relevant departments involved.

I do know of a very good friend of mine who uses Domestic Heating oil! but in what capacity and quantities or mixtures i don/t know? But i certainly can find out!! 8) :oops:

i used to have a 110 2.5 N/A and ran on heating oil just put it in the tank and of i went bit of a cloud behind me but was ok
