Looks suspiciously like an Astra to me

As for the truck..............., it's as different to the original Mini as the one on sale now

I'm with BTM...  you might as well just post a picture of one of the silly things they have now...   "The new Mini"... I ask you.....  on a par with "The new Beetle"

Just need to make this clear to those that dont watch adverts on the TV
Yes, thats the new Astra at the front of the pic. Ignore it.
The truck is a promotional gimmic from Mini. Painted to 'look' like a Mini. Its part of the new advertising campain.
(just in case anyone has'nt seen it)

ps, this is not directed at anyone, just wanted to point it out

Funnest thing i've just noticed about the picture is ....
BMW own Mini
Their using Mercedes trucks to del their parts!!
Strange
The F1 team use MAN trucks (Volkswagen)
Still not the same car group.

We sell parts for the classic Mini. But it is amazing how many people who own a BMW MINI (or a BINI as it is known by classic Mini owners) call thinking it is much the same and we can do parts for it. It is assumed that it is a natural progression from the old one..... far from it. It is simply a lifestyle (whatever that means!) hatchback with a MINI badge. By all accounts a good car, but I can't see us ever selling parts for it because it will never have the cult following of the original.

Not sure how the 'mini' term can be justified, it's huge! Same wheelbase as a Freelander isn't it? And rather wider! The original Mini concept was small on the outside, big on the inside. I've found the new one to be exactly the opposite

Yes. The Freelander/Range Rover hybrid is/was known as 'Free-Ranger'
