I want to try the Anderton Boat Lift at Nantwich & the Falkirk Wheel

Oooooo, the Anderton Lift - class engineering. Its been an object of desire for as long as I can rememember (IIRC) - which isn't as long as it should be, but I've still not actually seen it. Must change that.

I've been to it before restoration started, got some pictures somewhere

I just want them to get the Foxton Inclined Plain working at Blist Hill - now that would just complete the set!

Foxton was featured in 'Old Glory' a few months ago. It looks very impressive indeed.

Don't forget though, there's the 3-Rise & 5-Rise at Bingley, I presume you'll pass them on the way up to 'G-G'?

Still, only 50 wks to GG!

There is also the opposition for a trip down GG, Bradford Pothole Club have their week over whitsun.  

Just read back up the thread, John said he doesn't open water dive because it is too dangerous :lol:

And a fine bunch they are too. Their meet is good because it provides the GG experience for all them folk that go away on thier hols over the August B/H. Shame they've had such foul weather for the last couple of years - they're due a scorcher.

Yeah, and this from man who specialises in scaffolding through underwater boulder ruckles :shock: ! He's fine company, but he's as mad as a hatter!

19th to the 28th of August, mate.  

Due to a poor bit of forward planning by other folk, meself and Wolfie won't be 'on fell' for the first weekend (marshalling at the Baja UK in Radnor), but we'll be there for the rest of it. Hard life, isn't it!  8)

So, when are folk turning up? Just for info, the Bank Holiday weekend has a superb atmosphere, but the ques can be very long.

Countin' down the days now.....
