Yes, he'll own up - it was Tazman and not a very happy one at the moment :( First, the head gasket blew on the Disco, then we had to take the head to be skimmed, etc and now after last night, he (and others) have been mis-represented by TV - well no shock there really?! :evil: Gary Lawes is Press Officer for GLASS and a very good friend of ours. Gary was approached by these reporters to do an interview and show "some lanes" which involved Tazman and another friend. We were supposed to be told when the programme was going to be aired. Unfortunately, Gary and family are driving across Morocco in his 110 and will have missed it :twisted: We will be watching the whole programme again tonight. The programme listing states "An investigation into a campaign by off-road enthusiasts to apply to councils in the West to open rural byways to 4x4s and trail bikes. Opponents say the move would result in environmental damage and local tax rises of between five and 10 per cent" This was never mentioned :shock: Typical reporters. Anything for a story! None of us in the West Country, as far as we are aware, is "campaigning". We are all members of GLASS doing our best to keep everyone happy - smiling, being courteous, offering help to ROW officers, lane clearances, hole filling, tree lopping, trimming, and educating etc. etc.
We will just have to wait and see but feel this programme has not done any of us any favours.
