Taking a V8 Swimming

(1/4) > >>

petergalileo:
Bit addicted to taking my disco 1 V8 swimming, but ignition system is ruining all my fun.  Any ideas for waterproofing it ? Did think of a latex glove on the distributor but cant even find an 8 fingered glove on ebay which surprises me

Anything else I should be thinking about before going any deeper ?

Thanks
Peter

You can get custom built latex gloves to fit over a V8 dizzy - we used one on our V8 110 in Iceland, but took it off after a short time because it seemed to be keeping the water in, not out.

What a bout some sort of Heat shrink? if you can get that stuff big enough?

one of the more creative suggestions is to buy a small 12v air compressor for a fishtank or similar and to blow water into the distributor (via a small hole, a pipe and a lot of sealant)  this will theoretically pressurize the dizzy and just let air out of it when submerged (but you're pumping more in so it shouldn't get wet)
