200 Headlamps again.

Inside each unit there is a shield just beneath each bulb. I believe this is to reflect the light out of the lamp unit. No as the bulbs I'm using have a little black cap on them can I now remove the shields  :?:

Anyone else removed there's and does it make a difference  :?:

In short... don't mess about with them.  They have an effect on the beam pattern, so you might get into difficulties with the MOT

I did wonder about that too, but thought the new style bulbs with the black ends did the same job  :?:
