Shock Absorbers
colintandy:
get the delphi shockers they re far supierior and are gas not oil that means in simplistic terms you pay more for them but you get a better ride gas is quicker than oil and thus the shockers react much faster than oil shockers oil shockers are prone to over heating and the oil can bubble and foam up under stress thus boiling all the oil properties and making it usless which effects steering and braking regards colin

Thank you to everyone for their information.
Could I ask you something else?
I dont do that much offroad driving, but when I do it does get one hell of a hammering, and then there is the rare occassion when it has to be done at speed.
So for this i was going to get the DeCarbon shocks from MM4x4 (the one they have on special offer) but now reading what some of you have said the Delphi sound better choice. But if I go for the more serious ones, then surely I will have to replace the springs and bushes aswell? Or do I?
I am new to the discovery world, and this is getting a bit over my head, sorry.

Personally speaking, if you are doing something that gives your dampers a hammering, I would take a good look at Old Man Emu.. they are very tough compared to a lot... bigger shafts you know
They are more expensive, but worth it IMHO
