Whilst trying to find out how much the entry to Langley Farm was going to be this year, I found the YROC galleries.

Check the 'air' under that 101FC, whoo-boy. That's a deep gully where they are.

Nice piccys. Is that a right of way, i didn't know that was there, is it ok for a solo 4x4?

Yes it is ( at the moment), but it's fairly well water-eroded at the top.
Apparantly (according to 'Yorki') the gulley shown has filled slightly by default, as the section above it has washed into it.

It comes out near 'TheWhite Horse' (of' Last Of The Summer Wine' fame) at Jackson bridge.

The lane round Holm-Moss is getting worse now as well. 'Yorki' almost put his Rangie on its side & I got cross-axled in the same spot.

If you want the co-ordinates....

1. At Holme-Moss there's the lane around the base. Andy (for one) has pictures of this on his 'WebShots'

The lane runs from Old Gate round the base & over Ridings Wood Reservoir.
It then splits where Ramsden Lane turns sharply uphill.

This lane is quite steep & driveable, but is a questionable prospect at roughly this point, this is where I had problems.

Please don't get into trouble here, as it's not very well frequented by 4x4's for that reason.
However there are a lot of walkers in the area.

Discretion is the better part of valour


On crossing Whitegate Road, carry on down Cartworth Moor Road, until reaching the junction with Dunsley Bank Road
This is a lovely ridge-road looking down towards Holmfirth.

2. Hirst Lane. Lane Head. Not a rough lane by any means, but wonderful views. it starts here behind 'The Crossroads' pub & comes out at Jackson Bridge

3. Park Lane. Upper Cumberworth. A beautifully narrow lane that can easily link up with Hirst Lane.
This is reached from just behind the Star pub
If you click for the next (west sheet) & follow over the 5 Lane Ends (straight across onto Wall Nook Lane; go down to 1/10,000 it might help)


Please be advised that I can only comment on the state of the surface from my last visits, it might be differant now?
