Sorry Tim, the photo isn't too clear, the near-side of the roof was all bashed in presumably from being stood on.
On cresting brows in the road, the dent could be seen silhouetted against the screen, so it was fairly low!

Washing it, yes I'm afraid once or twice a year he gets a wash and it is so handy standing on the roof with a yard broom.

Found recently that its better to just get a brush and paint over the dirt.
