It wont start!!
joe90:
Was out in the landy on sunday doing a bit of green laning, and have discovered that when the landy gets up to temperature and after slow lane section it wont idle, and stalls.
Upon trying to restart it wont fire, and i have to leave it to cool down before having to manually pump the fuel back up to the carb.
There is a small in-line filter just before the carb, and when this happens the filter is always empty. where in the past its usually been full of petrol
Im begining to think that it is the fuel pump to the side of the engine, just after the little glass filter bowl, there is very little pressure when i try to use it to prime the fuel up.
Anyone got any ideas??
hobbit:
Inside that glass bowl, should be a gauze filter in the top of it, check that just in case
To change the fuel is not a prob anyway, as you can prob see.
2 bolts and 2 pipes, just a bit fiddly unless you have elastic arms
Have you got a spare?
joe90:
Ive been and got a new lift pump this afternoon, for £20 it was a bargin and wont take too long to change, will let you know if it solves the problem
Manicminer:
On some older vehicles there used to be a filter on the end of the pipe in the tank. This used to block and starve the vehicle of fuel. Blow down the fuel line and see if there is resistance or not.

whatever you do, dont suck!
i did it once and ended up vomiting for several hours
