Unusual reverse light?

Spotted this lovely Series 3 in Southhampton
Its got a front head light mounted in the rear wing
Nice idea!?!

Saw ne up at Driffield, looks quite effective.

My L/w had an external bracket mounted spotlight, never did like it, although thinking on what to replace it with now I took it off
