spot welds.

hi all. have a question and it maybe a daft one..... :wink: . i am going to drill out the spot welds on my rear floor tomorrow. i have the spot weld drills ready so am set to go now. also have the new rear floor pannel ready to put in place. so my question is............is there any tips for drilling the welds out? anything eles i should do when removing and refitting the floor section...........
cheers guys........first time at doing this so wanna get it right.

Did one a while ago, just go easy with the drill and ease the welds till they snap.
Was alot easier than I thought!

Use a 9" angle grinder!!!!

Depending which spot weld drill you have I'd say go easy on the 1st one as the drills work better once you've taken the edge off them, they can be a bit too keen when new.
Also be carful if the 2 panels 'shear'against each other, if you trap the drill it can snap.
Take a little out and try to carefully prise the panels apart until you have some idea of how deep to drill, it's very hard welding in the new panel if you've left the old bottom panel as thin as tissue paper.
Put new welds in place of the old ones if possible and use a good weld through primer before you start.
take your time!

cheers for the advice guys. atleast i have some idea what im doing now :wink: .... im just about to head up to the disco to start so i will let you know how i get on later this evening........... :D
