Smokey joe
rustprooflandyracer:
The injectors are new, however they are the britpart ones, which are no the best and may not up to the job if a new engine has been put in? they lined the pump up for us however we fitted, the timming seems fine, doesn't miss a beat when put under pressure, and i have driven over 600 miles since i put it in. Or is it worth just getting a new pump which i have sourced for a £100 and genuine injectors? the MOT is comming up soon.
hobbit:
Yes the injectors could be the problem, bad spray pattern, or the break off pressure no right. its the easiest thing on that side to check
As has been said a lot of probs down through system, so just need to confirm that the smoke is diesel or oil induced
rustprooflandyracer:
It is definatly blue smoke, well light blue. I tried to film it however the digital camera is broken... sounds familar some how, it occurs just above tick over, with a little throttle the smoke appears. My best bet is to take it to lucas autos, or a diesel specialists. The vehical is spot on in every other catagory apart from smokes on tick over. The whole idea of putting a new engine in is to pass the MOT which ironically i will fail again due to excess smoke.
