HAVE YOU EVER?

(1/6) > >>

yer auld aunt nelly:
Its one you hear quite often "wont to be careful with that on there, you'll get pulled" You know what i mean. All the extra stowage tools, and general "impedimentia". That seems to attract its self to the outside of your vehicle (if your anything like me that is).My latest being wing top to roof rack ties.My point being you often get sagely advice and tooth-sucking but has anyone ever actually been pulled or nicked for such
items?
And I mean actually nicked yourself, not I had a  mate who /or I know someone who which as we know is the beginning of all such urban myths.
Nelly

muddyweb:
I've not been pulled for them, but I think attaching bits of steel wire from the wings to the rack is a BAD idea.

Pity the biker or pedestrian who gets thrown over your bonnet  :?

(That is aside from the fact that I think they are a daft idea anyway)

yer auld aunt nelly:
:? The pedestrian or bike rider who ends up on nellys bonnet has a lot more to worry about than tie downs.Like how the hell they got past the bull bar etc to get there!plus nellys bonnet is not far of shoulder hight as well. And as for looking silly well thats a whole differant can of worms. But not half as silly as driving home from a days laning with no windscreen as it was taken out by a low and hidden tree bough

thermidorthelobster:
The answer has to be disconnecting them between times - avoid trees during laning trips, but avoid scything pedestrians' heads off when on the tarmac.

Your roo bar will not do pedestrians any favours, but the cheese wire will readily amputate.  I'd rather have some broken ribs from being slayed across your bonnet, than lose a hand to the wires.  :D

muddyweb:
A motorbike hitting you from the side will catapault the rider over the bonnet... if he meets a cheesewire on the way, he will land in 2 pieces on the other side.   :(
