« on: February 05, 2009, 20:24:56 »
Hello, I'm going to change the oil in my R380 gearbox what oil should I use to fill it back up? And was it correct to use EP90 in my Transfer box? cheers.  Ben

STOP, do not put EP90 in your main gearbox, the oil pump won't move it around properly causing all sorts of probs ie engaging gears etc.  The correct oil is either ATF (Yes, Automatic Transmision Fluid) or MTF94.  Me i'm, an ATF man.  See http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/faq_category_5.html#a14

As for the Transfer box EP90 is great along with your front and rear diffs.

Regards

Tony

MTF94 is the official recommend lub for the r380 and rather nice it is too over ATF.

As above, do not use EP90 stick with ATF. IIRC EP90 is ok in the transfer box
