just want to warn you all that V8 DEVELOPMENTS  in lincolnshire are not interested in replacing / repairing a new engine they built for our 110,
it was never right from day 1, and now its gone bang they are not interested, so a couple of grand later i have a knackered engine thats done a couple of months work at the most.
im not one for messing around with legal issues, so will just leave it for now!
but just be warned i have heard nothing but bad news about them since i bought ours from there, lots of people with knackered remanufacturedengines that never run right. why do you always hear this after youve handed over your cash.
i will post there full address later and his name so there is no confusion with anyone else, who does a good job.

Sorry to hear of your situation but please don't leave it - you've paid for something that you haven't received why should you be out of pocket. As a trader yourself I'm sure you try and sort out any issues your customers may have and should be treated with the same respect yourself.

It may not be necessary to pay a solicitor as you can get free advice from consumer direct http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ they may even help draft letters for you. Consumer direct are linked to Trading Standards and if enough complaints are made they may get interested in taking enforcement action, can't guarantee anything will happen but if you do nothing  neither can they.

Another way to get your money back is via the small claims court http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm, costs about £80 to start the process but the use of lawyers is not encouraged which keeps costs down.

You don't have to do anything but I would suggest you contact consumer direct and see what advice you are given.

What is it with Rover V8 'specialists'??? Some of you may recall my issues with a similar company last year. In the end, I sorted out all the problems, so at least i ended up with a good motor. You need to persue some sort of compensation from them. they have not met their part of the contract.

BEFORE I  say anymore, just to let you know, i am one of the nicest blokes walking, i will help anyone if i can, and would sort out any problems if i can with my customers (luckily dont get them really), but i am not the nicest person to cross, and i do have a reputation that backs this up (sort of unfortunately).
i think after a quick conversation today he has changed his mind and is going to supply another, so called recon block, end off the week, begining of next, so to save me some 'getting it sorted' cash, and i dont mean soliciters, we will see what happens over the next week.
will keep you updated.

If he doesn't play ball post this thread on every 4x4 thread you can.  It'll soon get his attention & affect the business accordingly.
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

Don't get this bad boy confused with GB Developments who are excellent for engines.

YES, THATS the one thing i was worried about there are a lot of engine remanufacturers and all have very similar names, but im pretty sure none of the others are in lincolnshire.
my man has assured me that he is now supplying them with another new unit next week, as long as this happens all will be well (ish), but i still stand by dont use them, they just dont deserve your hard earned cash, i bet turners wouldnt have give me this grief, infact pretty sure would never of had a problem to start with.
and i wouldnt have minded, but i didnt cut any corners like usual had the whole lot done and cost same as everyone else.
