Title: big tyres for a p38
Post by: Range Rover Ron on February 02, 2012, 15:31:47
Does anyone know what is the biggest set of tyres I could put on a standard RRP38?
It's on original, standard air bags and I was thinking of as high a tyre wall as possible to give a bit of extra height.
I'm thinking A/T's or M/T's as it's going to be a greenlaner.
Cheers,
Ron.

I've got 255 70 16's on  mine, Grabber AT2's. Brilliant tyre well behaved on the road and laning.
I don't know how bigger you could go without rubbing the arches when the eas has a hissy fit

I rate the AT2's very highly.

Hi guys,
got myself a new set of 4 of the new Grabber AT's
I've just been over to the isle of man for a 5 day greenlaning trip and they were great,
really good sidewall grip and excellent all round tyre.
These tryes have been getting good reviews in the mags too.
My size choice ended up to be 245/70/16,
I did want 245/75's but my missus sorted it out for me while I was overseas and I'm happy with the size,
the 245/75's might have been a bit tight.
My mates got BFG AT 255/75's on his P38 with no problems.
Cheers,
Ron
