TD5 Auto Gearbox 'hooks'
« on: May 06, 2013, 16:55:20 »
Hi,

I'm trying to identify what a couple of 'hooks' that come from the top of my Autobox are for and more importantly where they should be attached as they are currently dangling over the crossmember and not attached to anything.

The attached picture of a box removed from a vehicle shows the two 'hooks' I'm referring to on the floor to the right.

Thanks

those that i think you are refering to mate, are the breather pipes, long black plastic pipes that are "hooked" over at the end, they are ment to be up towards the engine bay, cliped to the bulkhead some where, the reason for them being hooked at the end,is to stop the water getting in.hope this helps.

Thanks, that would make sense. I've just Googled where they should be mounted and it would appear they are simply hooked over the fuel pipe - which was replaced a few weeks ago !!! so I guess they weren't replaced at the time. Shall see how easy they are to re 'hook'.
