Title: 3.5 on auto box in series 2 a

hello has anyone put a range rover auto box in a 109 before?
any tiips on the brakes and fitting?

Just get the auto stick where you want it in side the motor and then make everything to fit.The chassis rails are same distance apart so that aint a problem.

i'd suspect there to be a diffence in the propshaft lengths (size of transfer box/length of gearbox) which may neccessitate having one off props made ...

fitting a motor and box into the chassis is probably the simplest bit apart from watching your clearances on crossmembers for prop movement, then if one of the props gets too short you may find you'll have angle problems with UJ's and the sliding splines may become a semi specialist length to allow for articulation, too short and the prop could part itself (i've watched a snapped prop bounce down the A46 out of the rear window of my dads Pontiac once it had broke itself free of the gearbox, that let go at about 110mph  :shock: )
