Aye I am still here.

Tbh I only use tapatalk now so it's easy to navigate k. Most recent posts.

Much like above I am finding it hard to justify having a 110 say on the drive as a toy. Everyone is feeling the pinch.

prior to the forum going offline for 6-8months i came here almost daily, i was new to landrovers and wanted to learn (and learn i did) with threads and responses being started daily in most areas of the forums, to such an extent i'd spend an hour or more reading/responding each evening

once the forum went down i still needed my "fix" each night having more to learn so i went in search of places on the web, i found a few, i've met a few folks from those forums and refined my "educational" needs (i prefer Series motors), i consider those sites to now be my web "homes"

here. is just somewhere to casually/occaisionally visit for me now

i would like to thank all the contributors in my early days of landrover ownership as without them i would most likely have been branded as another irresponsible idiot trashing the countryside
it ain't broke ...

i ain't fixed it enough

Now that's an idea, get everyone all together, spreading the word with other forums as well, and just have a good old weekend with BBQ, beer and some lanes. Should be easy enough to rent a field somewhere... Take a few tents and and the family/friends

I did all that organising stuff a few years ago and I can tell you its not as easy as you might think but  go ahead and get it up and running, if you need any help or advice I'm generally not far away from my PC.

The treasure hunt weekend the club held on Salisbury Plain a few years back was a great couple of days, the campsite was at the back of a pub with toilets, leccy hook-ups, water, etc and the first lane was 200yards away also with 300 hundred miles of lanes on offer its almost a perfect spot although its not central its easy to get too.

Not looked in for a while, it was down or in bits last time but I was googling for something (A Hustler kit car of all things) and found an old post of mine on here.

I like the new look of the place, everything a forum needs and nothing it doesnt.

I only went laning once, a great weekend in Wales near Llandovery but I was a regular at the Abingdon 4x4 festival, I bought three Daihatsus just to drive round the course and get properly stuck in the mud run :)

Three more kids has greatly reduced my hobby time but when they are bigger I'll be looking at getting a cheapy 4x4 again, probably a Fourtrak if there are any left.
Maybe Dalton Barracks will open up again........
Watch out theres a tigger about!

Well welcome back MrTFWitt. Hopefully see you posting around here again, perhaps/hopefully with a new fourtrak ready for some mods and or laning.

I used to log in every day until the forum shut down. My computer died at some point afterwards and I didn't have a link in my 'favourites' so only just found the forum again.

Same for me as already said above. With the site being down for so long I drifted away and now only really frequent the D44 forum. I'm out competing once a month in the trayback but haven't been laning in 5 years now which is sad.
I guess I don't wan't to damage my Discovery when I've got a car which can take the punishment. It'd be nice to hook up again some time, maybe a weekend on Sailisbury would be good if it happens?

Not checked in for ages and don't really know why I did tonight as each time I have recently it's been like a ghost town.

I'll keep a closer eye one the club now and try to do a little to bring back the old feel.

I used to be on every day years ago but after buying a disco V8 4 years ago the petrol prices jumped sky high & so did the repair bills for the disco (will never have another one) so sold it & went back to what I knew performance cars but every time I saw a 4x4 my heart melted but last week I bought a very tidy 55 plate Nissan Terrano (had 1 before & loved it) so i'm back  I help run a 4x4 club & forum & it's also dead & the feed back has been no one has the money now to go out doing green lanes, P&P site & in some case to fix/rebuild their 4x4's

I remember your old terrano black wasn't it, nice motor. Didn't we do a day in the dales with the Nissan club or some such. Would be good to get back out if you are free with the new one some time?

I too used to be here every day, now I'm a teacher and a dad, I have very little time for myself.  I haven't been laning in Blue since the before the boy was born and now the LSE is off the road too.

A couple of us were discussing organising some trips soon though, it would help get the club back up again.

I dont mind organising a weekend camping/ laning weekend in Bala if enough people are up for it. We usually stop at a farm just outside Bala approx 1/4 mile off the road & right next to the river http://tyisafbala.co.uk/pricing/ The site allows camp fires and has basic toilets on the campsite and toilets and showers next to the farmhouse. I've got loads of routes in this area and i'm willing to lead a group. Please let me know if your interested and we'll put some dates together. In the old days we ran Mud Club trips here from our region and had over 30 vehicles in attendance.

I still do but find when I’ve wonted help or wonted to now if any laning or any thing happing NEVER got a replay so gave up… tried to sell my 110 no replay, was going to scrap it but not done so yet as family problems……..Now no ins tax ends this mouth mot 3 September ……….
If things where happing I would keep it, as would like to go green laning …..But I need as much notices as I can as my granddaughter goes to rest bite so I could try and make that weekend a rest bit weekend……….as she is disabled……….
I hope the mud club keeps going but from what I see and no one having any money  I’m not shore if it will……..But I would like to now if you are going laning……….
