Title: Jeep fan saying Hi
Post by: DavidH on January 30, 2010, 07:28:59
Thought I'd say hi as ther are going to be a lot of questions in the future (sorry).
I have a XJ (96) 2.5ltr petrol manual.  Bought back in 99 to tow the horses around and have to say Iit never got stuck in muddy fields despite having 2.5 tons of trailer on the back.  It became redundant in 2007 when I bought a 7.5ton horsebox so has sat on the dirve un loved and untouched since then. Never played with it off road as couldn't risk mashing it when it was needed.  Now it isn't and my lad wants to learn all about cars so back on the road its going.
Couldn't believe it when I charged the battery and it started instantly.  Brakes weren't even locked.  What a car!  No leaks, no rust. perfect.
Plan is to fit a lift kit, some big wheels and snorkel then go have some serious fun.
Looking good for an old girl ain't she.  yes the side steps are comming off!

Hey up :D

If you wanna splash some cash on it, it's worth giving Dave at llama4x4.co.uk a call. He'll both be able to give to spot on advice and can get bits in from rough country (and other suppliers) for a fair price.
