Title: leaf springs
Post by: T30CDB on July 21, 2015, 18:00:52
My partner is currently restoring her series 3 and i have been roped into helping with bits. Having removed the springs and holding plate so they can be cleaned up and painted im looking for some advice on what is best to paint the springs with. They have some surface rust but nothing heavy which was easily removed with a stiff wire brush. Is it best just to wax oil bath them and then let then drip dry or does anybody know a better solution to help maintain them a few more years.

I'd go with waxoil, anything else will flake off eventually
