Seeking a good defender.
« on: December 27, 2012, 14:52:42 »
Hi all. I've been off the landy game for a few years now... question for you is... "where to get a hold of a low mileage 300tdi 90 at a reasonable price"? Doesnt matter if it needs a respray, but it does need to pretty much as dent free as possible.
By low mileage, i mean below 90k.
Any tips greatly appreciated

Hi and welcome back :)

Ebay... Seems to get the best prices :(

Autotrader but to get a bargain be prepared to travel, look nationally...

Gumtree see the above...

I was just lucky with mine as I only paid 1000 for an M reg 300 with 65k on the clock though the clutch was gone...

Hope it helps

Ex military? Some show up with low miles but are quite dear. Nene overland may be able to find one but again quite expensive. Simmonites too, possibly. Your other alternative may be to build one as a new vehicle with a galvanized chassis and a crate 2.8 international motor. Certainly if I had the purse strings I would build one better all round to my mind.
