brake probs!
« on: September 24, 2012, 13:21:27 »
Hi have a big prob, I had to replace the brake master cylinder and servo on my td5 disco so followed the book all was going well till it came to bleeding the system useing the two man method and following the book we have now done this beeding 5/6 times and the pedal is like rock ! with little or no movment so you have no brakes, also the brake lights are on all the time but switch is fine it just seams as it wont let the pedal come back to hit the switch it sits just off it now.
am i missing something? or not doing something? has anyone had this problem before? how did they solve it?
ANY HELP PLEASE A.S.A.P as it is sat on a friend drive at the moment
thanks in advance !!!!!

do you not have to adjust the length of the pushrod on the master cylinder before you fit it to make sure there is a little clearance between the master and the servo otherwise the pressure keeps building and won't allow the brakes to release. Not certain this is the case but have had it on other vehicles.
